Market leading 3DS solution streamlines the consumer experience and issuer options for authentication
Bedford, MA – January 9, 2023 – Outseer, a leader in providing solutions that defend against fraud, today announced the latest release in support of the new VISA DAF (Digital Authentication Framework) standards. An important part of Outseer’s 3-D Secure solution leadership is continued partnership with EMVCo and card networks to ensure timely updates that coincide with evolving standards and industry regulations.
The VISA DAF standard attempts to address the unique needs of card-not-present (CNP) payments. EMVCo 3-D Secure 2.1 and later versions can be used to support the DAF standard.
To take advantage of this standard, issuer authentication is required through a 3DS interaction on the initial use of a payment credential at a merchant. As a part of the initial authentication flow, the Outseer 3-D Secure solution allows for tailored communications to the customer explaining how the verification step will help keep their transactions safe for future purchases. It also gives the customer authentication choice flexibility, including an option for both email and text OTP (One Time Password) support. For subsequent requests for the same customer, merchant, and payment credential, further step-up authentication would not need to be executed.
